From a house silhouette to a last opened for you, from calfskin to crocodile, ostrich, and lizard: stitch, hide, hardware, and form are specified together, then cut by hand in Guangzhou.
Write the brief and the atelier can make it. Togo, Epsom, Swift, Clemence, and box calf sit beside crocodile, alligator, ostrich, and lizard. Existing models and custom lasts are both open.
01 · The stitch
Saddle stitch
Each seam is a saddle stitch: two needles sharing a single hole, the thread locking itself as it travels. Pitch is kept even from the first awl mark to the last.
Tension is set by hand. The awl opens the hide; waxed linen follows. Ends are trimmed and sealed so the edge stays clean. On Togo the stitch settles into the pebble; on Epsom it reads as a ruled line.
Even pitch. Even pull. The stitch is the architecture you feel before you see it.
Edge paint is laid in thin coats once the seam is true — a finish that frames the stitch. HD QC photographs of this line are sent before the piece is packed.
02 · The hide
The table of leathers
Calfskins — Togo, Epsom, Swift, Clemence, box calf — arrive as whole hides. Beside them: crocodile, alligator, ostrich, and lizard, each matched for scale, quill, or grain before the knife.
Togo holds structure and ages quietly. Epsom is architectural: light, tight grain, every stitch visible. Box calf takes a high shine and records the life of the hand. Clemence drapes with a softer fall. Exotic panels are paired so the hide reads as one.
Name the family and the colour. The hide is specified as it will be cut.
Colour is confirmed against a chip on WhatsApp, then the hide is held for your last. Light colours travel with a rain cover; gold reads richer in sunlight than on a screen.
03 · The metal
Hardware from the bath
Turn-locks, feet, chains, and clochettes are electroplated — gold or palladium over a brass core. The finish is a bath, so edges stay bright where the hand will wear them.
GHW is a warm 18k-adjacent gold. PHW is a cool palladium that reads as silver. Rose gold is reserved for evening flaps. Plating thickness is checked under workshop light before the hardware is set into the hide.

You receive the hardware close-up with the rest of the HD QC set. Lock and feet are matched as one colour, then packed on your approval.
04 · The last
House line and custom form
Bring a house silhouette from the vault or a line drawn for you. We cut from existing lasts and we open a new last when the brief asks for a proportion, a pocket, or a handle that is yours.
The pattern is trued on the table: panels, gussets, spouts, and the turn of the flap. Once the paper is agreed, the knife follows that map through the hide you chose.
Leather and silhouette, together. The last is cut to the line you want to hold.
Size, hardware, and leather family move together. A Birkin 25 in crocodile is specified the same way as a Kelly in Togo, or a form that exists only in your notes.
